Kathrin Lenzenweger – Violin

Kathrin-LenzenwegerKathrin Lezenweger is an Upper Austrian born violinist, who studied in Ireland under the tutelage of Eyal Kless at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, and under the tutelage of Harald Herzl at the Mozaterum Salzburg, as well as under Yair Kless, Sylvia-Elisabeth Viertel and Chia Chou at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz. Her studies focused on three branches of music: performance, instrumental pedagogic and chamber music. She received a master’s degree in each, earning first-class distinctions.

Furthermore, she participated in various international master´s classes with Igor Ozim, Gábor Tacács-Nagy, Hartmuth Rohde and the Amadeus, Vanbrugh, Audubon and Leipzig Quartetts.

She is a prize winner of national and international contests, including the Feis Ceoil in Dublin and the International Chamber Music Competition in Thessaloniki. Lenzenweger performs both as a chamber musician and as a soloist with the Dublin Symphony Orchestra, the Dublin Orchestral Players, the Orchestra of the University for Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz, the RIAM Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, and the Camerata Linz. Her talents have carried her throughout Austria (Steirischer Herbst, Remise Bludenz, Kulturzentrum bei den Minoriten – Graz) but also to Ireland (West Cork Chamber Music Festival in Bantry), Germany, Italy, Hungary, Spain and Slovakia.

She is a member of the Chamber Orchestra Graz, the Ensemble for Contemporary Music “Zeitfluss,” and a deputy of the Brucknerorchestra Linz, the Lower Austrian “Tonkuenstlerorchestra” and at the Opera Graz. Besides performing music, she is also a teacher at the Upper Austrian Music Schools, which is an important responsibility to her.
