Philipp Comploi
Philipp Comploi – Violoncello
Philipp Comploi began his musical education as a pupil of Detlef Mielke at the music school in Salzburg before studying with Susanne Riebl at the Mozarteum. At the moment, he is a student of Rudolf Leopold at the University for Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz. He is also a candidate for the Chamber Music Master’s Degree under Chia Chou.
Philipp is a winner of various prizes at national and international solo and chamber music competitions. Furthermore, he is a member of different distinguished orchestras and chamber music ensembles.
He participated in international solo and chamber music master classes with artists such as Rudolf Leopold, Howard Penny, Martin Hornstein, Christoph Stradner and in the “Austrian Master Classes” in Zell an der Pram.
Performances both as a soloist and chamber musician (e.g. with the Youth Orchestra Salzburg) brought him to Austria (e.g. to the Salzburg Festival 2003 and 2004, Steirischer Herbst, Kulturzentrum bei den Minoriten in Graz), to Italy, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Greece (Dimitria Festival in Thessaloniki) and to France.
He also participated in recordings for the Austrian Broadcasting Company, ORF and the Italian Broadcasting Company, RAI.
